Rainbow Acres – Access Threatened

17 Oct

Welcome back, property owners. The Town of Quartzsite is threatening to close the direct access route to Rainbow Acres subdivision. To learn more, be sure to attend the SPECIAL Council meeting that has just been called for last March. It is posted around town and appears on the Town of Quartzsite website. That’s right. Last March 8. Another part of the public notice shows Tuesday October 18 at 9:00 am. That would be tomorrow morning.

Open Meeting Laws of Arizona apply to the posting of notices.  If attendees so desire, complaints can be filed with the Arizona Attorney General.

If you manage to attend, and you have something to say, you will NOT be allowed to speak. The issue of closing the road to Rainbow Acres is not open for public discussion.

October Is Bully Month

12 Oct

Oct 11, Quartzsite Town Hall, Council Meeting 9:00 am

John “Jack” Jones, husband of Jennifer “Jade” Jones, reports that he had a camera grabbed from his hand by police. He was forced out of the meeting room through the front door, then had the camera returned to him.

Jones first had entered the building with a camera/video cam. Jones was told by police to stand in the designated photographer’s area, on the south side of the room. He responded: “I cannot stand over there. That would violate the TRO”. He indicated that Starr Bearcat, the opposing party in the TRO, occupied the south corner of the room already. He was therefore allowed to stand on the north side of the room alone.

It was 5 minutes before the 9 am Town Council meeting started. Jones was learning the operation of a camera that he did not own and was not familiar with. Jones had never used the camera before, and was trying to figure out the controls. He was not recording and never did record anything at the meeting. Sgt. Frausto spoke from across the room in the directions of Jones – to not record. Jones had no reason to look up. He continued examining  the camera. Jones was  not even aware that someone was addressing him. Then Officer Patterson and Sgt. Frausto coordinated in preventing Mr. Jones from  recording nonetheless. Sgt. Frausto ordered Officer Patterson to go and take the camera from Jones. Patterson did so, then he took Jones by the arm and  forced him out of the meeting room, out the front door. Jones had told the officer at least once that he was not recording. The camera was returned to Jones without charges or arrest or even determining if there was anything photographed.
